vadis problems...did i get burned on ebay?

i can't get any information out of it. i can enter vehicle information and symptoms but the continue botton is greyed out so that's the end of the line. WTF? i'm not too savy on the computer, so what do i do? i'm sure it's some stolen copy, so calling tech suppport is probably out of the question..

Did you get installation instructions with it? Did you log into System Configuration first and set yourself up with password as a user with the areas you're trying enable checked?

I think that all Vadis discs on eBay are copies, not necessarily stolen. My local dealer says Volvo is aware of the numbers of discs being sold worldwide but don't seem too concerned about it.

Like you I am not a computer expert but I would suggest removing it and re-installing to see what happens. You may have overlooked one of the instructions.

I got one off eBay and it is the real thing. Expired yes, but you simply have to back date your computer in order to use it. Did you do that? Mine works fine.

Mine did not need the computer back dating. I suppose it depends on the seller because my seller stipulated in his listing that it was not necessary. Load, configure and go.

About back-dating:
I have had 2 versions (the last one for 2004 and the very last one made in 2005). The first one I had to back-date. Then the guy I got it from let me know a secret- how to change one of the system files that came with the disc to a date way into the future. Then, no more back-dating was needed.
The second version I got, I had to do nothing to the clock on the computer. Apparently, there is also another version (between the two I have?) that you have to back-date while installing, but once you've got it installed, you can go back to the regular date and you're fine. I guess it depends on how the files on the disc were modified to begin with.
