(1995 850) Bought for GLT model instead

Post by lilhat »

Can anyone tell me what the difference between the GLT and 850 is?

I just bought a distributor cap, rotor, and wire set for the GLT model instead of the regular 850.

What should I do?

Thank you!

It depends on the year but, as far as the ignition goes, I don't think there is any difference at all. You should be fine.

Right, 850 just means without turbo...actually, they are all 850's. GLT didn't have a turbo until '97 (last year for 850's).

you should be more concerned by your engine type than the GLT designation. Look at your vin code.. if its 55 its the run of the mill non turbo.

GLT was just a designation for .. grand luxury touring?

My 93 was a GLT.. so was my 95... but my 94 wasnt... the funny thing is all of them had leather seats and the cirrus rims with all the other luxury items. The 94 which was just and 850 had automatic climate control and the 95 didnt... so dont let extra letters fool you because the T ..doesnt stand for turbo!
THE FLEET!:

93 854 GLT 20v non-turbo 435,000 KM +

94 854 20v non-turbo 215,000 KM ..new engine

87 745 B230 non-turbo 250,000 KM (newest edition Jan '07)

86 244 GL B230 non-turbo 460,000+ KM
