1999 V70 Screaming AC
I'm having a problem with a screaming AC!! I'm thinking about taking the AC out and replace it with a pulley or a shorter belt, would that be possible? Many of the European Volvo's comes without The AC!
Thanks Ben.
Thanks Ben.

On the '98 and earlier cars I know you can just buy a shorter belt - I actually have one that I used on my son's car when the compressor clutch ate a bearing. My guess is that you can but the '99 belt routing is quite a bit different and the belt is double sided. Changing the belt is certainly the path of least resistance.

If its as simple as a tensioner pulley failure they can be bought separately from the tensioner for around $20 and made by Gates.
Remove the belt and see what feels tight.
