ARD-ECU Price drop, just one tune option now?

Post by ThinAir »

I recently visited ARD's site to poke around and I saw that the old Orange, Green, Blue, and whatever other color ECU remaps were gone and now there is just one-at least as far as S70's go. I also saw that the price is significantly lower than before. If somebody could shed some light on this I would appreciate it. At that price I might just bite given that after a couple things my car will be true stage 0. Before the change at ARD I was looking at the most mild tune they offered (30 more HP I think), so I wonder what this new one is. It looks to push the engine pretty hard offering 50 more HP and 50+ more lbs torque. I'm not looking to blow baby up, just have a bit more fun.

I'll ask Lucky what's up with the changes.

(I should have a new custom tune from ARD back in the mail sometime this week. E-85 fuel compatible, SAS delete, tuned for white injectors, R exhaust manifold, MBC.)

Nice Matt. I am very interested to see what you think. I like what Lucky has going on as he tunes each ECU for the specific car. Or at least as much as he can without having it in his bay. Let me know and congrats!

Hiya Jeremy. Got the ECU in the mail yesterday, but I haven't been able to unwind my 850 because she needs a front O2 sensor. :-(

I was getting odd, very infrequent P04xx codes for some time, and when I popped in the ARD ECU yesterday *bam* P0130. Reset and *bam* P0130 again within 2 miles. It felt like I went from a calculator to an octo-core workstation, diagnostically speaking

Bosch O2 sensor is on its way.

Lucky at ARD:

"Tune colors have been changed out to use basic Stage upgrade reference since we're changing our approach to tuning slightly."

My interpretation:

"So many tunes going out our doors were unique enough that marketing categories became superfluous, so we nuked them."
