Non turbo is less critical, either plug is fine. Some claim iridium Plugs give better mileage with payback for higher cost but I've never seen data, only anecdotes.

Turbo or non-turbo, it does not matter re plug choice.
I have copper Bosch ($2/each) in my 1998 S70 GLT, runs fine but every 20K or so, you need to re-gap it.
In my 2005 XC90 2.5T, I put in NGK BKR6EIX ($7/each), runs very smoothly, no hiccups whatsoever.
Over the long run, the Iridium wins because for $25 difference ($5 x 5 plugs = $25), the Iridium can maintain the proper gap much longer than copper.
I will not go back to copper, I am an Iridium convert...

Hmm don't know whether it matters on a non turbo whether they're correct or not. The factory fits these when new and I replace them usually with OEM or the NGK equivalent 3 prong spark plugs.

I just got 50,000 kms from a set of OEMs but they might as well have been quality NGKs. Cost is only 1/2 of Iridiums and I don't really like leaving plugs in too long as the threads need to be relieved and re-lubricated with anti-seize every couple of years anyway.
