The back of my seat would not return to the upright position. I shortened the cable which allows the seat back to function. However, when I get about 3/4 of the way upright it stops and then can only be adjusted about an 1/8 of an inch at a time till comfortable.
Does something just need calibrated? Did I cut to much sleeve off (~1/4")? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The sleeve cutting repair is kind of a Band Aid. It works if there is one driver and the recline angle is pretty much set and doesn't get used very often but if there are multiple drivers with multiple seat recline angles the only real fix is to replace the cable.
The end of the cable breaks first but the rest of it, internally, is falling apart as well and it starts to bind.

the end wasn't broken and everything seems to move freely when disengaged (no binding). Its my understanding that the cable compresses overtime and that people have good luck with the cable sleeve shortening game to counteract the compression. Anyone have any input on this? Anyone do the cable sleeve shortening maneuver and have it work poorly?
