3rd Seat/floor panel removal - 96 850 wagon

Post by mwy »

I'm going to replace my rear shocks tomorrow, and haven't found any definitive method of removing the floor panel / 3rd seat back to get access to the shock mounts. Are there bolts hiding somewhere that I need to remove before it will pop out as listed on Bay13 of Volvospeed?

Thanks in advance!

Fold the seats flat and access via the rear doors makes it lot easier to work, from what I recall a bit of the old heave ho is needed to remove the panels they just clip in and out, I don't think you have to remove the 3rd seat back, just leave it folded flat in place, been quite a while since I did mine so I could be wrong re the details.

Aha! There are 4 retaining bolts for the 3rd Seat / front floor panel of the wagon. To remove them, hold the 3rd row seatback up, pull up the side floor panels that flank the 3rd row seat panel, lift the carpet over it's retaining clip on each side and you wil find (2) 10mm bolts holding a plate down to retain the panel / seat. Once these are out, it looks like there are just some clips to locate the panel.
