Hi All, its been a while!
!998 V70XC - I have checked every last fuse I can find - no luck, they all have continuity.
Any ideas?
Thanks!
Stefan.

Many Thanks! Two years ago I had to move the ignition switch away from the steering column, and yes, one has to jiggle it slightly to get the indicators etc to work. Replacing the steering lock mechanism is proving to be a real problem, not being able to find an exact replacement.
I recently replaced the battery, and then these issues seem to occur after I accidentally tried to open the sunroof (previously it had been leaky, so I caulked it shut). It is now cracked open, and will not move, open or shut. At this time I tried to close the windows too, without success.
The radio will not come on either, which I thought was strange. I took it out and checked for power on the larger connector, and found 12V between the black and yellow wires.
I will go and jiggle the ignition switch some more to see if it resolves these problems.

A forum member will direct you to a schematic diagram that includes the sunroof.
I don't know that circuit but I"m wondering if it includes a circuit breaker. If so, that could have tripped. Do they automatically reset? Not sure. If it remains a mystery, it will be time to get out your multimeter with some long leads. I made up a pair of 10 foot leads with alligator clips with a length of lamp cord which I used to trace circuits involving the HVAC a couple of years ago.
I took the schematic and my multimeter to a junk yard and indelicately got into the wiring harnesses from the fuse box and below. I finally found the source of the problem and learned a lot in the process—which by now I'v forgotten : ) since I thankfully haven't had to use that knowledge.

Hi Jim, thanks for the response!
I tried the ignition switch jiggling test, but no luck there.
I am thinking there are Relays and Breakers in the two fuse boxes, I may just have to work through them all with a 12V source and a continuity tester.

The Radiator arrived today, so putting it in was the focus, and not done yet - one of those darn captive nuts that the long bolt uses tore lose, with the bolt frozen inside. Have to think how I'm going to solve that one.
Either try to grind it off, or weld the nut back on to the platform. Bloody old cars.
