While the new hand held high with a wrench avatar/logo may be a bit cooler, losing the bright yellow makes it a PIA to find it when going to favorites. It doesn't stand out anymore.
I suggest you keep the new logo but make it yellow again, that way you have the best of both

I'm about three days ahead of you. I noticed this last week and put the familiar MVS yellow background on it.
It's called a "favicon", and browsers like to cache this. Meaning, it might take a few days for your browser to update its favicon for MVS.
Here it is, enlarged (they're typically only displayed at 16x16 pixels):
