2006 C70 Soot filter full

I have read a lot regarding the regeneration of the soot filter. Mainly this seems to be a problem on short trips and low speed journeys.

I have a 40 mile commute that is mainly done on the motorway. I have just driven 400 miles in France at 80 and have soot filter warning on after 1 1/2 hours of driving, this clears after another hour then back on again, etc. I now have a full oil sump.

I guess something isn't working correctly, but I still have to drive 700 miles home in two weeks time. Is there anything I can do?
