Hello All,
Has anyone experienced hearing your brake pedal 'Buzz" when depressed or released from the "Park" position? Would you know the problem and how to fix it? More importantly, is it dangerous?
Just for clarification, this is a buzzing sound, not a "Whistle" which seems to be a common problem. It sounds electrical.
Any feedback and guidance would be greatly appreciated.
thank you,
2003 S60 Brake Pedal Buzz

If it sound electrical, then this could be the motor inside the ABS unit running.
Does that happen with the car ON only or regardless (you could still depress the pedal and move the gear lever with the key in pos. I); have you done anything to the brake system? Do you see any DIM messages?

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

Thanks for your response. I replaced the brakes and roters about 6-7 weeks ago an they are working fine. I did brake one of the parking brake shoes when removing a stuck roter and have not gotten around to installing the new parking brakes. Also, the occurs sometimes when the car is turned off. I am getting DIM messages that say position bulb our and brake bulb, however when I check all bulbs on the outside of the car they are all ok, are there internal bulbs I should be checking?
Thanks
Thanks

The ABS is very likely to be the source of the buzz; if it lasts long enough and you have a way of reproducing it, with the hood open I would have someone push the pedal while I am listening to the ABS.
The bulb failure seems to be irrelevant to the 'buzz'; but if you have replaced the suspect bulbs with the correct wattage (you want to do them in pairs everywhere) and also clean electrical connections, the shunts will be the most likely offenders.
