A friend of mine has a newly-bought 1999 V70, and while my VIDA/Dice set-up works fine on my 2001 v70, and another 2000 v70, it cannot read this 1999 model past the initial reading of Car VIN and such.
I never get to the map of modules, and the faults therein.
Is there is a different approach to using VIDA with 1999 v70s?
Can anyone step through, click by click what they do AFTER reading the VIN, and setting the choices that are never read by VIDA, such as "Sunroof or not" to get to the map of modules?
I am embarrassed, as I cannot help my friend.

1982 240DL: Drove it 32 years and 1.5 million miles (sold, even still had mint leather!)
2001 v70 2.4T: The most expensive $1500 car I ever bought ("Volvo Turbo" - what an oxymoron!) (sold)
2004 v70: Far less fatally-flawed v70 - It served well (sold)
2010 v50: Smaller, slightly sportier wagon. Its got a spoiler, so I upgraded with sway bars!

The procedure is the same. Something else is wrong (with vehicle)

Procedure is choose Dice reader then Read Vehicle or choose vehicle if it's in the recent vehicles list then choose transmission, LHD or RHD then choose sunroof or not then press OK.
After this press Communication tab then you get a small window where reading of modules takes place with a green progress bar. It selectively shows communication with each module by showing it's name.
Do you get the progress bar or does it go straight to the next window?

After multiple attempts, everything started working.
No idea what was wrong.
Old Win XP laptop.
Any way to get VIDA running on Windows 8.1??
