With a fly-by wire setup, even if you just run a simple ETM test with VIDA the ECU disables cruise control temporarily until you reset (no MIL or ETM comes on though). I am not sure why but this is how it behaves - probably a safety feature.
Ah HA!! That explains the post above - same thing happens when you clear codes.

John - My DECEL button on my cruise doesn't work - but I rarely use that so I haven't tried to fix.

abscate, that's a shame. I thought the - Decel button set the cruise, but maybe the Resume left toggle will do the same? I'll clear my codes tonight before I drive home from work, and see how the cruise control behaves then.

I'll be sure that I have my radiator fluid correct (as it consumes a small amount to heater core leak), so I don't get a low fluid CEL. Next time I get a CEL (hopefully not for a while), it may be whats causing my cruise control to be faulty. I do like to use it as it help me with my lead foot which happens to get me speeding tickets.

I think I use the + button to set the cruise.

I know an evap or knock sensor code won't fault the cruise, I'm trying to remember which one did knock it out a couple if years ago...

I don't think the coolant light integrates into this circuit and fault loop.
