Volvo 850 P0422

Post by Baptiste1106 »

I scanned my OBD again today and code P0422 popped up. Let me give you some data on what happened this week. Changed my coolant temp sensor, so i took off my intake manifold and noticed fuel vapor/leak from some where. Bill from fcpeuro.com said it has to be the fuel pressure regulator on the fuel rail because thats the only part that would dispense fuel in that area. I took off the vacuum side of the fuel regulator while vehicle was on and no fuel vapor/leak. Hmm.... Ok what now ?

Gonna throw bottle of cataclean in there. If my catalyst is below threshold, this product will clean it. Used this on many vehicles with postive results.

Look for an air leak around the intake manifold. Did you replace the elbow near the power steering pump? the intake manifold gasket? You should've while the manifold was off. Also look for an exhaust leak. The flex joint in my exhaust system developed a leak, and I threw the 422 code every day until I had the exhaust repaired.

@ RussB ... New pcv components were installed recently. I hear hissing from my vacuum tree, maybe o-ring. My intake vacuum port is factory capped. My 850 has a another vacuum routing. My majic sauce works, but not denying that i have a vacuum leak somewhere. Went to an exhaust shop and no active exhaust leak from pipe or exhaust manifold gaskets
