Hello everyone.
As the title says it`s AC. First of all. The AC works well for the first 15 minutes. Then cuts off.
I checked that with two wires attached to a light bulb where i can see it, to the compressor. As the light goes off the AC compressor turns off. So i have ruled out that it`s a bad AC electro magnet or the AC clutch gap is to big. So i though that maybe there is a leak or some pressure difrences that turns the system off. Went to AC shop. cleaned the system checked for leaks, refiled refrigerant, added oil, checked pressures. AC runs at +4 celsius or 39 Fahrenheit...... for 15 minutes.
Took it to basic volvo repair.(No main volvo centre in my town) connected to computer diagnostics. and it turns out that after the car was powered on for 15 minutes there was a command from the "sun sensor" to turn of the AC. Atlast i know whats the problem but how to fix it? I googled and found that the sun sensor can only send a command to lower the temperature if there is hot sun. but why its shutting of the AC compresor?
I don't know, change a perfectly good windshield for a sun sensor(maybe its faulty?). Maybe some of you have had the same problem? what would be my next steps? maybe i can somehow bypass the sun sensor ? disconnect it?
Any help would be appreciated.

Conceptually would the AC run I a dark carport or under shade continuously, or does the sun sensor really detect sunlight and issue a command? I would think there's a way to deactivate hhis behavior in VIDA / DICE.

It happens on a lot of cars. You need to take the front of the clutch off the compressor. There will be two small shims/washers behind it. Take off the smaller one and reassemble it. It will work from now on and won't shut off. I have done that same thing on my S80,my Taurus SHO and my wife's trailblazer EXT...
