'01 XC70/75K miles: Volvo says new Service Bulletin out

I took my car back in because I started feeling a small jolt when going into Reverse, not all the time. Previously, Volvo suspected the collapsed engine mount might be the problem, they put in a new one and the jolting ceased until few days ago. Now the Volvo Srvc "master" mechanic wonders if it's related "to this new service bulletin Volvo put out about rough shifting into reverse... this is transmission related." Ftr, installed a new tranny prior to the initial jolting. "So, now what?" i asked, "we'll run it by warranty and see what they say."

Shouldn't these service bulletin's reach the owners? If not, why not? And is anyone else aware of this so-called bulletin? I got a glilmpse of the bulletin, it had extensive diagram of the transmission...he pointed to something quickly and then covered the bulletin up.... shouldn't I be able to get a copy of it?

Service bulletins and recalls are two different things.
'01 V/XC70's are known for the clunk. Some software upgrades are known to help but many people still complain about it even after they've literally done "everything." Guess you'll have to wait and see. At least you have it at the dealer who should be able to problem solve this issue.
