1998 V70 tyre pressures

Post by jackteet »

Hi, I am registering my volvo onto spanish plates and the testing authorities have insisted that the 195 x 60 x R16 are no good and I must put 205 x 60 x R16 VW on the car. I cant find tyre pressures for this size so shall be grateful if anyone please knows for normal and fully laden use. Thanks jack. :?:

Same as the others, between 32-36 depending on what you like
195-60-16 really is a very odd size tire
Mod note. Jim passed away in early 2022, his contributions to this forum are immortal, and he is missed. RIP

Here's an excerpt of sensible tire pressures for the European market 850's.

If you go with a 205/60R16 the tire will be too tall and the fronts are going to rub. Since you are going from a 195 to a 205, your sidewall has now gone from 60% of 195mm to 60% of 205mm. I would recommend a 205/55 or 205/50 to keep the height of the tire consistent.
