2003 XC90 T6 - Help with P0455 code

Post by tpezzolo »

Hi all - I am searching for some advice on how to attach a "large emission leak", code P0455.

This started out as a small leak (P0456), I bought a new gas cap. I think it went away for a while, and now it is back as a large leak, and the car is noticeably running rough at higher speeds.

From what I gather, I should be looking at the evap purge valve, the canister, all associated vacuum lines. Can anybody tell be where to find these items on my car? Is there anything else I should be looking at? Does anybody have any guesses as to what commonly causes this?

Thanks in advance - Tony

start way easy - get another gas cap, the one you have may be faulty or not seal well. Other than that check all items to and from the charcoal canister; also check the fuel return line where it goes from metal tube to rubber at the fuel tank.

Hey thanks so much for the reply, is the cannister behind the rear right wheel well? That is my guess. I can't find it that easy.
