96 850 how to remove key switch tumbler

Post by JimBee »

I found an 850 with 150+k miles—key was on the ground. I'd like to get the switch. I'm in as far as the tumbler but not sure how to release it. Does anyone know?
Thanks!

There is a slot at the top of the casting that surrounds the cylinder. Use a small screwdriver to press the cylinder release tab through that slot and pull the cylinder out with the key.

Does anyone know if this will work for a 94 940. Where exactly is the release tab? I can't seem to locate it. Thanks.
