98 V70 AWD DipStick Tube Seal Replacement

OK OK, a trivial question, but I am currently suffering from a very bad back injury. How much of a PITA is it to replace the dipstick tube seal? Turbo motor. From top? From bottom? If I speak real slow and get together a bunch of diagrams can I walk my 20 year old through the task? The whole bottom of my engine is covered in oil, it looked like initially that the oil filter was leaking but on close examination I can see it is coming from the seal area although I have not been able to put eyes on the thing.

Not that bad. How is the PCV system? That will cause the motor to spew oil.

Sucks in the rubber glove. Done about 80K miles ago with volvo parts and heater hose mod. Upper motor is clean and dry. Lower has more of a sheen than dripping and no add'l driveway stains.

It is an easy job. One bolt on the manifold secures the dip stick. Then pull dipstick tube up. Sometimes the seal or grommet will not come up with the tube so you may need to fish it out. seat new grommet in the cleaned out hole then insert dip stick tube.

Probably better to put the seal/o-ring on the tube, then insert the tube in the hole. But hey, whatever works, works ...
