1998 v70 xc awd Muffler

I have a 1998 v70 xc AWD with the dual exhaust. There is a large hole in the driver side muffler and i took it to a highly recommended muffler shop and the guy told me that he didn't have the right muffler but that all i had to do was order a left rear muffler and he could put it in. It seems to me however that I have to order the entire system. Despite typing in the right info, the parts that come up on line as being the right match don't look like they are. Is it possible to just order one muffler with this car and if so can someone point me to the right part? It's not worth much so i'd like to take the most inexpensive route possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If it's OEM Volvo, you have a dual system that was sold on the '00 V70 R.
It's only available as a unit - No separate parts. Here's an old post that may

Thanks. I saw that post as well. I guess the question i have is the muffler guy seemed to imply that you could simply cut it out and weld on a driver side muffler? Is this possible? And if so, which one?

any finds on price ? That swedish post from 2004 quoted 260! now its 500 bucks! I do like the dual pipe for the 2000 v70 awd and it fits the 99 so they say.

Unfortunately prices have gone up! More expensive again, is a duel system for 97-00 awd volvos from eurosporttuning in Canada. It has 2 seperate muffler boxes and tips, but it is $699 US.
