Getting tossed around by shorebreak and slammed into the sand day
after day is a rough go; Clark Little wouldn’t have it any other way.
In fact, for the North Shore local, it’s all in a good day’s work. But
the Waimea addict didn’t grow up snapping shots with his father’s
camera like so many photographers do. He instead set out to capture
his longtime stomping grounds when his wife came home with a framed
photograph of Waimea shorebreak, an image he figured he would be able
to easily replicate.

Great photo. I've seen a few Web articles on the photographer.

I can't read the word "shorebreak" without thinking of a nightmare surfing situation I was in when I was 24.
It was somewhere around here https://www.google.com/maps/place/San+F ... a933c22932
We went out for a sunset surf, and couldn't get in because of a massive shorebreak. It was crashing right in on the shore, set after set, overhead waves. We would have gotten ground into the sand. It got dark before we got a break and paddled in.
