I'm back. Last year I finally fixed my vents and motors - all of them. Two of the dash vents were jammed closed I there were errors with all of the motors. I took all of the motors out, cleaned them, positioned them to the middle of the travel arc, and put the motors back in while trying to align the vents in the middle position.
After running the 9-9-9 protocol (I could hear the vents moving), all of the errors were gone and I was satisfied.
Now that the AC season is in full bloom, I question if I did things properly. There doesn't seem to be a lot of air coming from the side and center vents. The right side is a little warmer than the left. The AC (compressor working quite well) isn't that cold once the car warms up.
Did I not position the vents properly when I put them back? Should I re-run the 9-9-9 protocol and see what happens? Do I need to take out the dash AGAIN? If I take out the dash, where should the vents be positioned in relation to the motor stops?
Thanks guys.

The way the dampers are made, with the square shaft, there really isn't such a thing as "being a little bit off". If they were "out of phase" with respect to the damper shaft and motor alignment they would basically get stuck in one position and not do anything.
Are you using the AUT settings? I am never happy with the decisions that the ECC makes on its own and I direct the airflow to where I want it to go. In the AUT mode it tends to distribute the air between the vents more than I like.

Hi Lee,
Yes I am using the AUT settings. When I move the selector to chest level vent, more air does come out of the center vents but not the side vents (either side), they seem to stay constant. I like the AUT because then I get a little bit on my toes. And, yes, I closed off the fresh air in the center vent.
The heat works better than the AC, but at least the AC works like a typical European car - takes a good while to cool down. I will have to re-check that the engine fan works with the AC engaged, I forgot to look at that. It probably does, just my memory is shot.
