HELP!! Is it my transmission??

Hello there-

I'm Stephanie. I have a 1990 240 Sedan and recently I have noticed that when I put my car into drive, when I press on the accellerator, it hesitates just for a second and then kind of jerks into motion. It is not severe right now, but i'm concerned. It doesn't do it when it changes into other gear, nor when I reverse. It isn't making any weird noises when it happens- so hopefully this is a good sign!!??

I'm pretty clueless when it comes to my car unfortunately so I just wanted to get some opinions before I blindly walk into the mechanic!!

Have it checked out but could be bands need adjustment. Doesn't sound serious.
