Just completed this install on my 2003 v40. For other folks with S/V40s, I connected the wiring harness from the boost gauge to the wiring harness from behind the dimmer switch. I connected the red wire to a peach colored wire with a black stripe. I tried the pink wire first, but it did not work. By process of elimination, I found that the peach/black wire was the right one. Any suggestions on gauge pods?

Just ordered the Lotek A pillar gauge pod. It's intended for the S70, but with any luck, it will fit the V40 pillar. I tried a Sun Pro gauge pod from Auto Zone, which did not come close to fitting properly.

I'm looking for a boost gauge, and I'd like to see what's involved. Can anybody post the ipd instructions or anything similar? How are their gauges? Who makes them?

I just purchased one from eBay. There are dozens of them with several features. Starting at about $9, going up to $150ish.
I purchased one for $24 that has a volt meter and AFR (air to fuel ratio), which I have no idea how to connect yet. It should arrive today.

What kind is it? I've heard the cheap ones don't respond fast enough.
I was looking at Autometer and wondering if its better than the IPD

I installed my boost gauge in the lower hvac vent on my 850. I was able to T off the factory boost gauge line, and splice into the dimmer switch.
I wanted to remain "stealthy", and not have it on the pillar. Easy to remove, and the only part I cut was the diffuser for the vent. I have a few spares if I ever decide to delete the gauge. It's an equus gauge I got from orilleys. Works well.

I put mine on a mount made from some wire in a hole I drilled in one of the blanks behind the wheel on the right.
Have both a wideband and boost gauge connected to that gauge, will probably add more sensors to it later.
