Recently I had a misfire on cylinder 3, changed the spark plug and coil fixed the misfire.
Shortly after that I received a code for large exhaust leak, took a look underneath and noticed a clean break in my central exhaust pipe. Hack saw, piping from autozone and 4 muffler clamps later fixed, clearing the error code and the car no longer sounds like a monster.
More recently 3 codes have popped up, p0422 (reading as a small evap leak), p0460 (reading as a fuel sensor) and p1237 (reading as a manufacturer code).
The p0460 makes sense as my gas gauge has recently started stopping half way and going no lower, sometimes going back up. It is the other two codes I am worried about.
Currently if I am stuck in traffic or the car is stationary while running for an extended period of time my coolant light will come on, the temperature gauge does not rise fully. This only comes on if stationary and running, driving my commute to work without traffic on the interstate at high speeds the coolant light never comes on. Symptom 2, starting the car and sitting idol in neutral the car is sitting at around 1RPM.
After my drive from work, I popped the hood and disconnected the mass air flow sensor, started the car and the RPMs went down to a normal level but would rev as up and down as if it was misfiring but no jump in the engine.
Suggestions? I will definitely clean the MAF to see if that has any positive effect but just wanted to see what direction others might put me.

Without codes, I would be a bit hesitant to suggest anything beyond what you already know. Most volvo-specific codes will remain obscure to generic scanners.
Can you read the car with VIDA; it should decipher that proprietary p1237 and may find some more; we could then ponder. Thanks

Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

For the P0422, this is probably a small crack in a rubber hose associated with the evap system or possible deteriorating Fuel Cap seal. The P1237 points to an accelerator position sensor issue, the ETM I think. Dig here for cleaning/rebuild options.

The P0460, try a bottle of Techron fuel additive, maybe for a couple of tanks worth. The 460 seems to generally point to the sender being sticky but it could be corroded wiring too. There are access panels in the back of the car but I don't know if you can actually see the fuel level sensor wires and connections. I'm guessing dropping the fuel tank in this car is as ugly as in my V70 AWD, sub-frame nonsense and a general pita to do. The techron might clean the sensor enough to get it working again, a long shot but.....
