2006 s60 Antiskid service required

Post by Changry55 »

Recently, the Antiskid service required warning light came on my car. so i had my local mechanic pull codes off my volvo (2006 volvo s60 2.5T) and he found the following fault codes

BCM-0136 brake pressure sensor 1 + 2 signal outside of permitted range
BCM-0133 brake pressure sensor 2 signal too low

What could be triggering this?
do i need a new ABS module? or Brake booster? new sensors?? :o

Is this a common problem amongst volvos?

This problem can end up being a can of worms. We had the same problem of the Anti-skid service light coming on, and it can be caused by many things. The first thing to do is to see if the software has been updated. If not, have it done at the dealer. It desensitises the ABS check system from giving false error codes. We had that done and 4000km later it has not returned as of yet.

The system has diagnosed the brake pressure sensor. Next step would be to locate this sensor and test it out of circuit to see if it falls between measurement parameters.

So the dealer said that my indie mechanic cleared the original codes but only 1 code came up bcm-0133. They checked both sensors and seem to working fine and supposedly they updated the software. :/ So they told me if it comes up again send it in straight to the stealership... ehem I mean dealership. They charged me for a $95 diagnostic test this time around. :o

cross my fingers, i hope it doesn't show up again.

now to buy a ipd TCV...they're having a flash sale! woo hoo!

Tom
