- Orginally the OBDII scanner from AutoZone showed four (4) codes, in this order:
-P1057 (?)
-P0137 (O2 circuit low, bank 1, sensor 2)
-P0722 (Output shaft speed sensor circuit no signal.)
-P1057 (?)
-Corrected O2 sensor. (No more codes now.)
-Cleaned ETM thoroughly. (Quite a few posts saying this causes issues.)
-Replaced spark plugs
-Cleaned Vacuum hoses. (Some little ones were quite plugged.)
-Visually inspected ABS module internals. (Many, many posts about this. Mine had zero solder connection issues.)
After doing all this, I decided to take the silly thing to Volvo, pay $90, and have them diagnose the problem. At this point, and after many hours of research, I half suspected the Vehicle Speed Sensor, so-called. But I wanted to be sure.
- Volvo found these four issues:
-"Customer states check engine light is on. Check and advise needs Vehicle Speed Sensor."
-"Column lock faulty."
-"Right Axle boot faulty."
-"Power steering pump leaking."
I installed it.
- Now I have the following codes:
-P1057 (?)
-P0722 (Output shaft speed sensor circuit no signal.)
-p0717 (Input turbine sensor curcuit no signal.)
The "Service Engine" light comes on when the car is started, then goes off about a minute later.
The "Check Engine" light comes on and stays on.
The "Flashing Arrow" light comes on and flashes.
The "SRS" light comes on and stays on. (Not sure why Volvo had no information about this for me.)
And so, in conclusion, I am at my wit's end. I am not sure what to do, or if anything can be done. If anyone was willing to help me get this solved, I'd be eternally grateful. (Even if all I am able to do is pass emissions, I'd be satisfied.) And I'd be more than happy to give advice on plumbing, which is my strength, if needed.
Thanks.
