Dual Action or Random Orbital?
Dual Action or Random Orbital?
Seems like most detailing sites talk about dual action polishers. Well, I was snooping around my dad's garage and found several things that intrigue me. I dont have pics or model numbers, but several of them said Random Orbital sanders. These aren't the small palm type. One was a Porter Cable and another was a Dewalt. Is Random Orbital good enough? They looked like they had interchangable backing plates, but I've never used a machine for waxing/buffing. Should I just pony up for a legitimate DA polisher?
I got the Griot's Garage 6" random orbital buffer from www.autoanything.com and absolutely love it. I got the kit with a couple different pads, compound, and finishing wax. The directions are very easy to understand and the results were great. If you sign up for their emails you can catch their frequent discounts and get a better deal.
