99 V70 Mileage

Post by JeffHicks »

Not a problem, just a statement and question.

I'm wondering what kind of mileage you guys get out of your V70s. I've got a "base" non-turbo 1999 V70. Automatic tranny. 170k on the ticker and runs great. Everything is as it should be.

Using 87 octane gas with 10% alcohol, I consistently get 26-27 mpg going 75 mph down the Interstate. Using 91 octane non-alcohol gas, I will get about 28 mpg at Interstate speed. Maybe just a bit more.

Is this about what you guys pull down? If you get markedly better mileage than this, to what do you attribute it? Anything you've done by way of tuning?

in my 1995 850 N/A at highway speed and regular 87 I average around 27 mpg, but when I'm just running around town, it drops to about 20-22 mpg.

I get 23 mpg on my commute with AWD intact, which is about 2/3 highway 1/3 back roads. Right now with the driveshaft removed I get 23.5. Car is at stage 0.
