Another good good reason why we usually DO NOT spin wheels on takeoff (especially with rotary wings)850 LPT wrote:Sometimes you just blow a fuse....Ben850 wrote:All my vehicles seem to suffer from the same issue. Example of Precision: Measure with a Micrometer, mark it with Chalk, and then cut it with an Axe.

If I disable the SPORT mode, it's a DOG between 0 -40mph. A crippled three-legged DOG. Maybe a front two legged dog dragging a doggie wheel cart. Everyone, including the VW Beetle pulls away from a stop leaving me behind wondering "where did everybody go-" Like I just passed gas.
The Sport mode should "mostly" just kick in the turbo much sooner. I can't see that costing 5mpg. 2 maybe but what do I know? I'm, still sitting at the stop light sniffin my Musk for men. Sport Mode gets outta Doggie-wheelchair mode at 25ish mph.
My attention is now focused on the CAT. I'm wondering if it's partially clogged/blocked. I put a VAC gauge on the intake and at idle I get 12"inHg; - at 2500RPM I get 13"Hg. That SEEMS AWFULLY Low to me, I don't think the Turbo is blowing while in park to cause that is it?
What do the more experienced Readers say?
I don't have an adapter to hook a gauge to the exhaust.
Thanks,

Ok, just ran a drive test with a vac/boost ga attached. Sport mode just kicks the boost in sooner, even econ mode it hits 9psi when your foots in it. The vac only goes down to about 10" when throttle closed. I would think ~15 to18" would be normal vacuum.? There are NO vacuum leaks, no codes.

Exhaust Temp in to Cat is 450*F
Out is 330*F
That mean anything?

Dumb question: Are those calculated temperatures or you do have thermocouples installed in the cat? If 'calculated' then you are seeing some average or whatever intergal values calculated by the computer.
If you have probes installed, the accuracy of any real-time reading of temperature in a dynamic viscous flow depends a great deal on the method and calibration of the probes.
So, I would not worry much about it

10" HG vacuum is low
I get
15"HG in Drive
18" HG in park
If you can't find the leak, get a shop to smoke test it

RE: Temps- pyrometer readings, Midas tells me those are normal readings. Conflicting info on the net. NOT the cat.
Diagnostics Results From Volvo independent Guy: $90
PCV system is BAD, source of vacuum leak.
New O2 sensor from AutoZone is not working.
MAF is not working.mass air flow.
Obviously these are the cause of the bad mileage.
