Post by Memuns »

When I put my car (04 s60 2.5t) in reverse it hesitate, then when I press the pedal it roll back with a loud clunk noise. But if I put the car in drive before putting it in reverse everything goes smoothly. Please help me figure this out

Check your parking brake shoes. They delaminate and require a replacement like every 10 years.

If it's not the ebrake then a clunk in reverse sounds like rear diff...u ever change fluid.

I had the same issue recently. My rear caliper had seized. Replaced and issue is resolved. Check all 4 calipers they may all need work and you can reman them yourself but we're talking major risk if not done properly. My ebrake shoes were also shot so did those as well. Smooth as silk now
