2001 S60 White smoke - turbo or PCV?

Post by 01S602fourturbo »

I am a newbie on here - and - newbie owner. the car in question has had the head gasket replaced already - and - I just stumbled across a bunch of threads and am trying to narrow down my issue / fix.
There was one bad coil pack which was replaced with Plugs last night. Verified all injectors are working as well.
Last things in question I guess are....what to check next. the car starts and white smoke is pretty quick - Am I to rule out the turbo is fine because it does not even get to an RPM to kick it in?
Then - there is smoke present at dipstick tube and fill cap - how does one verify PCV system? Or am in still in the dark?
Any help would be great!

You can put a plastic glove snapped over the oil filler neck on top of the crankcase and see if it inflates...that usually diagnoses pressure problems well. If you are seeing a lot of white smoke , it almost certainly is the problem

Is the oil discolored @ tip of dip stick or discolored @ oil fill cap? If yes the ur PCV system needs cleaning and replacement of hoses/components. Possibly poor install of the HG(head gasket)

Thx
Have not done the glove test yet - had massive rain yesterday - will get on it today!
Head gasket was done at 110K - currently 153K on it.
I let the car warm up Saturday with the oil cap off and it took quite awhile - but it seemed that the smoke toned down a little - not a 100% - but toned down.
I have not ventured to the turbo yet - just trying trying the basics from what the experts on here are telling me to try next!
Will check the oil - seemed decent on the dipstick - yet - did not pay attention to the cap!
