98 V70 AWD Turbo Pipe Problem

Post by rmmagow »

I had my car in the shop to fix a problem I had caused. bla bla bla, they had to remove the turbo pipe and found that the end where it attaches to the turbo was cracked and came apart when the took off the hose clamp. They installed a used pipe with my existing PTC moved to it and all is well. This semi broken pipe did not cause any codes to be tossed. All I ever experienced was that sometimes the engine just felt a little down on power, didn't apply power in a smooth, easy fashion. Sometimes it would run sweet, nice and strong, other times it ran OK, just didn't feel right, kind of like retarded timing. With this replacement pipe the engine is now running very sweet again and running like that all the time. It is gradually getting better and better as fuel trims are adjusting.
Just an FYI in case anyone's had similar weakish running issues.
PS, the old pipe looked fine and never felt loose although I never got very rough with it.
