2008 V70 Automatic window roll-up malfunction
2008 V70 Automatic window roll-up malfunction
When attempting to use the auto close feature on my 2008 V70 the driverside window closes but immediately upon closing it opens and continues down about 3/4th of the way and stops. Only then can I close the window with or without full button detent without it open automatically again. Is there any way I CAN reset this function or is it a dealer only fix. Thanks for all replies.

first try: roll window all the way up and then hold window switch in up position for 5 more seconds.
If not successful then: find fuse for the driver's door module, place the fuse puller tool or needle nose pliers on it, auto up or down the window and pull the fuse out while window is in motion. wait 10 seconds and then re-install fuse and do the first try method again to re-train window. Oh, be sure the weatherstrip up in door frame where glass stops is not rolled over as that can make it stop n reverse (pinch protection) by stopping window before it gets to last trained full up position in memory.

Thanks Jimmy for your reply. I tried your suggestion several times to no avail. I'm going to try disconnecting the battery for lack of anything better to do. .......FOLLOW-UP....Disconnecting the battery didn't help either. Any more suggestions appreciated! Thanks

You might also need to do a reset for the auto close function. I disconnected my battery recently and had to do just that - once for each of my four windows. To reset, lower the window part way, then raise the window but not with the button fully raised (i.e. do not activate the auto close). Hold the button in the first position until the window gets to the top, when it does, lift the button all the way up into the autoclose position and hold it there until you hear a sound from the motor (like it's trying to push the window even higher). That should do the trick.
Mine was doing exactly the same thing.
This worked for me.

I just purchased a 2007 XC70 to replace a wrecked 2003 XC70. The window on the drivers side was doing exactly what you described. I put it in the auto-up mode and pulled the fuse while it was in motion. I waited about 15 seconds replaced it, and moved the window to the full up position. Then held the button in the up position for 5 seconds and ran it down. Then up. Stopped normally and is still working just fine. The dealer who sold it had no clue about Volvo's and just happened to pick this up cheap at an auction. It was priced right and I was a cash buyer. Let's just say I got a good deal on it because he didn't know about all the little fixes that have turned this car into a jewel. Rides and drives like a new one now with about half a day of tinkering.jimmy57 wrote: ↑13 Oct 2014, 22:33 first try: roll window all the way up and then hold window switch in up position for 5 more seconds.

I have a 2006 volvo v70 2.5t.
I did the "Window Regulator Sliding Block Replacement" fix on the drivers side.
I then did the "window automatic window up/down calibration" following the steps provided by jimmy57.
The "window automatic window up/down calibration" is a very easy DIY fix.
The window now goes up/down without issue.
