Car had been my daily driver up until July. Has issues that are outlined below. Auto transmission is strong and smooth and with some work will make an excellent, sporty wagon.
-1996 Volvo 850 Turbo Wagon with 2.3 L I5, 222 hp
-She is very peppy, and will never leave you wanting for more acceleration. It has been driven Grandma-style for the last 90K miles, as I am super-frugal with mpg.
-Shifts perfectly.
-1 1/4 hitch receiver
-Black, with black leather inside and wood trim finish
-I have owned it since 2006. I have records from my ownership and from the previous owner (only 2 owners total). All wear items replaced as necessary (of course). Front rotors and pads last fall. Of note, in the previous 10K miles, the front control arms, axle assemblies, sway bar links, outer tie rods, inner tie rod on right, torque rod bushings, and more were replaced. It is aligned and rides really nicely.
-Timing belt done at about 210K, have about 220 on it now. Water pump, bolts, etc. all done at that time. Approximate mileage because odometer broke at 194K.
-Engine is now stumbling when cold due to head gasket leak - check engine light on.
-Seems to have a slight charging problem. I drive 5 miles to work with this car and not much else. This leaves the battery weak, but usable. A longer drive helps out.
-Starter may need replacement soon.
-AC is not reliable
-Secondary hood latch not currently working.
-No radio
-Pics show 16" rims, but car now has 15" rims (in good shape).
-Lots of other work done in the time I have had it. Many parts and systems addressed/replaced/rebuilt.
