Purchased car about a year ago with 84k miles now has about 92k. Yesterday took a trip of about 300 miles and noticed a clicking sound coming from under the car at very low speeds.Usually only on slowing but one time on very gentle acceleration, and sometimes not at all.
Jacked the car up today to check u-joints etc. Cannot turn driveshaft! Parking brake is off, trans in N. Shaft is solid- will not move! Both driver side wheels are off ground. Had wife turn rear wheel- turns freely but nothing moves underneath.
Is this normal ? If it is how do you check U-joint, carrier bearing, etc?
Any ideas what the clicking sound is?

Sounds like it's coming from in the middle under the back seat. Does not yet do it on shorter drives, begins after about 75 or 100 miles.
Is it it normal to not be able to turn the drive shaft.

Now sometimes getting the sound on short trips when making a turn at low speed. Coming from somewhere in rear of car. Cannot tell if it's left right or center.
Is this anything serious? Don't want to take anymore long trips until I get this figured out.
Thanks for any help you can give.

There is a carrier bearing and U-joint about half way back. Forward of that I can't get a good enough grip on the shaft to a good check for play. Aft of that the shaft is locked tight- will not turn! Trans in N, brake off, both drivers side wheels off ground. The rear wheel can be turned easily but the drive shaft is rock solid.
This is my first AWD, do I need to get all 4 wheels off the ground to be able to turn the driveshaft?

When you check the before half you should be able to detect play and noise in the u-joint. Also by pushing onto the shaft closer to the carrier bearing you may feel radial play. Try rising both rear wheels off and see if shaft rotates.

With both driver side wheels off try putting in drive and rotate front wheel left to right to see if drive shaft follows.
