I took my 2006 S40 to be repaired because the sunroof drainage was not working properly and there were puddles in the car. They took out all the interior mats to dry, put in new drains, repaired a leaky AC valve, and changed the oil. They gave us the car back to drive and kept the mats for cleaning. When drove the car home, the radio was no longer working. They have the car now to put the mats back in and are saying that the radio is broken and they didn't do anything that would cause it to break. They are claiming it is just a coincidence that the radio won't turn on and say it is $300 to fix it. They say that nothing they did repair wise would cause the radio to break. It seems crazy that the radio was working on the way to drop the car off and they worked on it, and now it doesn't work. I am arguing with them about it but not getting anywhere. Does anyone know if the radio is something that can be repaired by me or is it extremely difficult?
Thanks for the feedback!

Sadly, the sunroof drains were something that could have been repaired by you, but I'm not so sure about the radio.
Perhaps it's just a blown fuse. It's easy to imagine someone under the dash shorting something while getting to that AC drain. I've heard of radio installers messing up electrics because they didn't disconnect the battery before doing ANYTHING under the dash.
You DO have an owners manual, don't you?
