98 C70 Seat Adjust

On my 98 C70 the lever on the side of the seats so you can move the top forward so someone can get in or out of the back isn't working. Ive never messed with the internal workings on these seats any ideas on whats wrong and how to fix ?

My 04 has a pull strab under rear of seat... but that's to allow the seat to move fwd all the way.

Not seen one of those seats, but having repaired the electric back rest cable on an 850 (using a write up from here), I would bet it uses a cable to release a catch to allow the seat back to tilt forward. The cable has possibly broken or become detached/stretched with use. Only way to fix will be to pull the seat, partly remove the backrest cover, and have a look at the mechanism. The how-to one the seat bach repair will give you all the info to get you 90% of the way.

Also check with the dealer if the have a parts drawing they can print off for you so you can see what goes where.
