Have changed plugs, oil, trans fluid and filters. Have the minor 2-3rd flare too.
Is the poor man's Reset Adaptives method.... i.e., disconnect batt, NEG 1st, for 30 min, touch cables together for 5 min, then reconnect POS 1st while ignition key in 2nd position.... appropriate?
Not sure how to appropriately drive for the computer(s) to memorize.

Battery disconnect only works for engine adaptives on earlier models. You need a Vida Dice setup to reset adaptives and reset fluid counter on the transmission.
The instructions for the drive cycle are contained in Vida.
With my P80 V70 2000 5 speed auto you can only reset adaptives. There is no drive cycle mode menu in Vida for my TCM. (trans control module) You may find the same issue with your P80. Only solution after resetting adaptives in this case is to drive the car and it takes around 600 miles to improve.

Thanks precopster... I'll look into the VIDA DICE thing. Looks a little intimidating from my investigation so far. Evidently the Chinese knock-offs are most common. Are they pretty straight forward... for a not-so-IT kind of guy? I've found a local (Phoenix) chapter of Volvo of America Club so I'll see what there all about and possibly someone might have one. Appreciate the response/input.
