Hi all,
My aunt has a 2008 XC70 this weekend, to test drive and see if she wants to purchase. I wanted to check for any existing DTCs on the car, so I plugged in my Can OBD-II 3160 scanner. No DTCs found, however I noticed that when I plugged in the reader, I got a message on the dash about "DSTC Servicing Required".
I turned the car off, re-started, no messages. Did this several more times until another attempt, and then I "got Park assist syst service required."
I did this process several more times, with the same Park Assit msg, and then I finally I got another new one: "SRS Airbag Service urgent".
Does the fact that i only saw these messages on the instrument display when i had a code reader installed mean anything? Are theses just stored codes and nothing to immediately worry about?
I'm thinking that we need the dealer to hook up their tool to see the Volvo-specific ones, which I guess I am getting a small flavor of when I hook up the generic reader.
These messages only seem to appear when the reader is hooked up.
