The loose red/white is unused. The B6304 92-95 used two coolant temp sensors, one for engine management (rear of head) and the other on thermostat housing was for gauge in instrument cluster. effective with 96 the engine management system changed and the instrument cluster was revised. The Tstat housing one is wired to engine computer and it delivers a signal to cluster for gauge.

Yes, this is weird... I went to log in and my account is no longer valid - not found. So I registered again - with t\he same username and email. Weird...
So thanks for the clarification the red wire. I'll forget about that one.
Looking at the wiring diagrams from above link (thank you!), I find the "Camshaft Positioning Sensor" at the bottom of page #1 of "Engine Performance Circuits". However, not only does it say it's on the 'front' of the engine - mine is on the rear of the upper head, but the wiring colors don't match whats on the car - vehicle wiring. Mine are yellow, green & red.
Then the cam sensor side of the wires are labeled 'NCA'. Does this imply that it does not matter which way they connect?

Thanks
