Hey all, I'm new to the forums but have found lots of helpful tips on here over time so thanks for that.
A few weeks ago our etm light came on and the car stalled in the street, it wound up turning back on with no problems after a few moments. The car has run pretty well over the last few weeks but finally started it's limp home mode a few days ago so it is time to clean the ETM.
Yesterday afternoon I used this video as a guide to access my ETM but when I went to lift my fan assembly free it seemed to be stuck or adhered to the radiator. Has anyone else had this problem?
Prying it free seems to be out of the question since I don't want to damage the radiator.

I just watched the video and they left out loosening the lower torx screws on the fan. There are two screws and you will need to remove the air guide to get to them. They are also T-25 and they are a bit difficult to get to. You don't need to remove them completely, just loosen them a couple of turns. The bottom holes on the fan are slotted and the fan will lift out when they are loose. They kinda glossed over the need to disconnect the fan ground as well.

Actually, as I look at it again they are removing the fan with the shroud. I have never been able to pull that off due to clearance.
The way I do it is to remove the fan and then the shroud. There are four torx screws that hold the fan on. Two on the top that need to be removed and then the two on the bottom that need to be loosened. At that point the fan will slide out and then the shroud will come out afterwards. I also have had to loosen the hose clamp on the charged air pipe that goes to the ETM so that the pipe will swivel a bit back towards the block and give you more clearance.

Got ya, that'd explain something. I'll take another crack at it tomorrow.
