You need to put a piece of wood between the jack and crankcase because you will need to support the engine from the crankcase.
Hydraulic jack must be used under the engine. It is a lot easier with it.

I replaced that mount last year for the first time.It took me around 20-30min to replace it.

I'm talking about lower front mount located by the crankshaft pulley.

Erik-- The webbing is on the mount. It is just triangular vertical bracing welded on either side of one of the mounting holes so close to the bolt hole that it is impossible to get a socket on the bolt to remove. The webbing exists on one style of mount, but not the other.

Erik -- I have no doubt the remove and replace goes pretty easily with the style of mount that doesn't have the reinforcing webbing, but I couldn't swap the one that had the webbing. Perhaps a set of thin-walled sockets would have come to my rescue, but: 1) I don't own such a set and 2) I didn't have the time to do it myself, so my local independent mechanic got the job.

If mar601 is lucky enough to have the style of mount that does not have the webbing (and note mar601 that the two mounts are not interchangeable), then it is, as has been stated, probably a 30 minute repair tops.

I had been told by the dealer that I needed an engine mount 2 years ago. I purchased a mount, but just never got around to putting it in. Last week, I did the timing belt and water pump change and saw the engine mount - which reminded me to dig out the old mount I bought all those years ago.

Here's the old and new mount. The mount was in fact completely broken and the engine was basically resting metal to metal.

As it turns out, with the engine mount gone it made the timing belt access a little easier. So in the end all turned out well. Here's a picture with the mount gone while I was doing the timing belt/water pump. Those two holes below the crank on the left is where the engine mount bolts to the motor.

I also noticed that the mount I got was URO. Are those any good? I know that they have a terrible reputation for their hoses, but I was wondering if the engine mount was any better.

You should have bought Meyle,Lemforder or Febi Bilstein. They are excellent aftermarket brands.
I don'think this one will last.

Uro,scantech....should be avoided for everything.
