Can I advertise my need on the forums? I know that many Volvo owners have stuff laying around. I am asking if it is appropriate, as I am new to the site.

Moreover, I just realized that the AMM is not OE. The brand is Fuel Injection Corporation. Thus, if I am going to install OE (used), how would I go about pinpointing which part number I need?

Matt's Volvo forum has a board especially for that. It's called Classifieds - Parts.

Just go to eBay or your favorite auto parts store website, type in your year, make and model, and you will see which parts are available for it.

On eBay, for example, type '86 Volvo 240 OEM MAF'. Just be careful: non-OEM parts WILL show up in the results.

Register on Turbobricks and post a wanted ad there ("Wanted" section under "Classifieds" section). You will likely get a response in less than an hour, with a good used AMM at a great price. Be sure to post the last three digits of the AMM in the wanted ad ("016", "007", "002", or whatever it is). You have LH2.2 fuel injection, I believe.

Found an AMM/MAF on Turbobricks classified forum. Thank you for pointing me in that direction.

Update:

- radiator hoses replaced (coolant drained and filled)
- spark plug wires replaced
- purchased OEM AMM on turbobricks, will install once it arrives

- had transmission leak from cross-threaded pan bolt after transmission drain and fill by the incompetent technicians at a massive chain quick-lube (I will never go there again). Local tranny shop replaced pan, gasket, flushed transmission fluid - - the quick-lube will be reimbursing me.

- oil change is right around the corner… Any advice? Type of oil? I have Lucas oil stabilizer that I would like to add as well.

Update:

- Brake junction block replaced
- Replaced aftermarket, bad AMM with Bosch OE *** car starts much better in the morning. Doesn't struggle

Now I want to replace the temperature sensor but I would prefer to leave the intake manifold in place. Any thoughts on doing this? I assume the flame trap will be a b**** to maneuver around. Any suggestions would be appreciated for this project. Thanks again everyone.

Nice you're making progress.

For the temperature sensor, I use a 3/8 ratchet and an assortment of wobble extensions with a u-joint adapter, and a deep socket (17 or 19, I think?). Facing the intake manifold, youwill have to reach one hand under the left side to guide the mish-mash socket assembly directly onto the sensor from the right.

Confusing, but it can be done.
