1996 850 SAS injection pump.

Does anybody know how the ECU ascertains the SAS pump is bad for the purpose of the CEL and emission control? What's the most expedient way to fix this?

The ECU measured the activation of SAS pump during cold start.
Search forum for the "Radio Shack diode" trick.

I went the route of replacing with a VW pump of ebay. It was cheap and very easy to r&r.
