2000 V70R - Spare wheel storage question

As I continue to fix all the PO's and repair shop bodges and crap work, I keep finding stuff that is fitted wrongly, panels that are broken or their mountings, but the best yet is the spare wheel mounted wrongly causing the to hinged panel to now be bent as they forced it over the wheel.

I can't find any info on the correct way to store the spare, and if there is anything missing, as I am now getting an even more annoying squeeking coming from there.

If anyone knows how it should be stores and the parts required to do so (and perhaps take a photo or 2) I'd really appreciate it.

I can't tonight but I can tomorrow.

It's pretty straightforward. Tire over top of the jack and then a strap holds it down. Expand the jack to stay firmly within the rim if I remember correctly. I haven't seen mine in at least two years but that's what I remember.

cn90, I did the google thing before posting, and there are no photos that show how the wheel is fitted in the wheel well. I can see the wheel appears to be mounted with the outer face down, and the jack and stuff inside the rear cavity to the top.

There is also a polystyrene ring in there, is it fitted above or below the wheel. I'm assuming it is below to cushion the wheel from the metal for some reason, possibly to stop rattling or corrosion interaction?

What I need is an order of how the items are fitted, and ideally how the 'ring' should sit. The rest is fairly obvious (possibly!).

So I pulled everything out of the spare wheel bay and took a couple of photos. It can't be too hard! My main question is about the foam/polystyrene ring the wheel sits on. Is this the correct position for it and is it even the right part? I have seen another ring in a 98 wagon in pick-n-pull and it is wider (but car was on 15" wheels) and it looks like if would fit in the steel rim edge which would give a better and more stable support.

There are 2 X 3-4" lips just behind the foam ring, at different diameters. The outer one you can just see above the ring.

Cleaning this area with polish and plastic cleaner may have been a bad idea as the plastic lower tray move easily. Maybe putting some adhesive plastic patches under it may help?
