Air Mass Meter
Air Mass Meter
HELP! I just learned from a VOLVO mechanic that my air mass meter is on its way out. How involved of a project is this to replace myself?
this is assuming you have a 740 of some type..
you should be able to do it yourself, just loosen the air hose attached to it, and the attachment to the air filter box. unplug the cable, switch air mass sensors and then attach everthing again.

The AMM is an electronic device which does not wear out, it either works or does not work. Not doubting your mechanic but, I would say it is imposible to determine that this component is "on its way out" unless your car is exhibiting some problems that would point to the AMM. These are easy to replace (as described above) but also very expensive, so I would suggest that you are sure that it need replacing first.eisquen wrote:HELP!
