How to paint rims and should you?

Post by alexk243 »

I just purchased a 1993 Volvo 850 and the rims are in real bad shape. Rusted and awful (unfixable/cleanable). Thinking of just painting them black. Dont want them to look junky, but dont want to pay for new rims either. Is it possible/a good idea and if so, what do I need to do to do it?

Yes, you can definitely paint them. It is just like painting a car. Have you done any paint work?

Minimal paint work, I am assuming sand them down, prime them, then paint? anything more to it?

Old post, but I am looking to finally get around to painting my rims. Any suggestions?

Plastidip is cheap and removable if you change your mind.
