I had my brakes and rotors done by the dealer back in early November 2014. Since then whenever I back out of my driveway in the morning after a rain or snow or just plain humid day, I hear a loud moaning sound like to an old iron gate creaking open and closed.
The dealer claimed it was "backing plates" and repositioned them by bending them. Did not work. Brought it back and they repositioned the backing plates again.
I brought it back again, third time. Same thing, only now the creaking occurs every morning.
My warranty expired right after third time and my Volvo dealer now claims he did me a "favor" by "fixing" my car and that this issue was never under warranty, It's an adjustment not covered under the safe and secure part of the warranty. Yeah right!
I now have a fourth appointment with Volvo and I ask, isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expect a different result?
I need a fix. The C-30 is an awesome car, but my neighbor thinks I'm clubbing baby seals in the morning.
Anyone have this strange problem with their Volvo? Not the dealer, I expect strange things from them.

Its hard to answer without inspecting it. If your getting a noise while backing in the morning then we need to determine first if it is definitely the brakes ( I believe you but sound travels and bounces around a bit) . If it is the brakes then you have a vibration going on somewhere which can include a sticking or malfunctioning caliper, harsh edges on the brake pads , harsh edges on the rotors.
Basically we have to find out which 2 parts are touching and why. Can we assume if you press on the brake pedal during the noise that it stops? Any way you can upload a video. There are many Volvo owners here who may recognize your noise .
